Fred Raynaud, director and screenwriter

What Sets Us Apart

BIOGRAPHY

Fred Raynaud is a French director and screenwriter whose career combines over twenty-five years of directing, experience in international commercial productions, and a long-standing commitment to writing.

Coming from a hands-on background, he first sharpened his eye alongside renowned directors and cinematographers in the fashion and advertising industries. This transmission of knowledge, enriched by his personal practice, forms the foundation of his approach to directing.

His first directorial effort, French Touch, was shot in the Dominican Republic in the world of kitesurfing. The film met with international success among the board sports audience and opened the doors to a collaboration with the New York-based company Free Rider, specializing in extreme sports. He went on to direct more than thirty films for them over five years.

He then turned to advertising. His credits include Renault, Ford, Maserati, Microsoft, Nike, and Adidas. His shoots took him to the United States and South Africa, among other places, where he deepened his knowledge of international commercial productions and working with multicultural teams.

In parallel, he continued his work as an author and deepened his understanding of dramaturgy through various approaches to writing and numerous masterclasses, notably those of John Truby.

In 2004, he founded Sam Prod, where he developed fiction, animation, and television projects with partners such as Gaumont Télévision, Télé Images, Fireworks, and M6.

In 2012, he wrote the series and directed the pilot of "Riviera, the casino war".

In 2021, he co-founded the company Cheese & Bacon with Fabien Quesada to support his film projects, and consecutively directed "The Shadow of the Beast" (2023) and "Drops of life" (2024), two short films that garnered attention at international festivals.

Today, he is preparing his first feature films: "Memory of a Goldfish", a fantasy thriller (in financing), and "The Promisse", a luminous human drama (in development). These projects are the continuation of a narrative and artistic approach matured over the course of his experience. Across different genres, Fred Raynaud consistently explores the fragility of memory, the construction of identity, and the quest for freedom.
